The Phillies will win the NL East, Chase Utley will take the NL MVP, Mariano Rivera will finally get the AL Cy Young Award, and the Yankees will win the World Series.

It’s hard to make predictions when it comes to Major League Baseball. Anything can happen. Players get hurt, hitters have protracted slumps, journeyman infielders have unexpected career years, and former star pitchers suddenly can’t find the plate. Anything can happen. So predictions are very dangerous; but they are also a lot of fun. Here are some educated guesses about what is going to happen during the 2007 Major League Baseball Season.

The Phillies will trade away Aaron Rowand and Jon Lieber for two middle relievers that will shore up their bullpen and push the team to their first division title in 14 years.

The Tigers trade away a young middle reliever for a big bat at the trading deadline.

The Yankees call up Philip Hughes from AAA in June and the young pitcher will win at least 10 games.

Historic Moments of the 2007 Major League Baseball Season

Barry Bonds will break the All-Time Home Run Record record in mid-August.

Sammy Sosa will hit his 600th Career Home Run in late June.

Craig Biggio will pick up his 3,000th hit in late June.

Tom Glavine will win his 300th Game in late August.
