Would you like to buy a Yankee Season Ticket package this season? How about a Red Sox ticket package? Or maybe you’d like to see the Dodgers, Angels, or Mets this year. Well, if that is your plan, then you'd better locate the deed to your house and find a very good real estate lawyer. Because if you want to see any of those teams live, you may need to mortgage your house. Ticket prices are that high. Here is a list of the five most expensive ballpark seats in the country. Yankee Season TicketsYankee season-ticket prices for the best seats in the House That Ruth Built will run a family of four approximately $52,000. You read that right. It works out to $160 per ticket. That deal, however, is only available to fans who are rich enough, and connected enough, to buy an entire Yankee Season Ticket package in the team's “Field Championship Box Seats.” If a fan wants to buy those seats for a single game, he will need to shell out $400 per seat. Except that he can’t. The Field Championship Box Seats are all sold out. So, if somebody wants those seats, the Yankee fan must visit a ticket broker, and spend almost twice as much per ticket. That works out to $259,00 for the whole season. That buys a 4-bedroom spread in Lexington, Kentucky; or a closet in Manhattan. Fenway ParkThe newest “Evil Empire” in baseball is the Boston Red Sox. Sorry, Red Sox Nation, but it’s true. They have a payroll that is approaching $150 million, and they have the second most expensive ticket prices in the game. A Sox fan looking to get in on the action this season would need to purchase Fenway’s Dugout Box Seats. These seats will put the Sox fan just steps away from David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, and all for the low-low price of $312 per seat. That's $1,248 per game for a family of four, or about $101,000 for the entire season. Again, these bargains can only be found if the tickets are purchased from the Fenway Box Office. But most of these seats are already gone to corporate wankers. So, the only way to find them is to visit a baseball ticket broker. The broker will charge about $2,000 per game for those four seats, or around $160,000 per season. That's a lot of chowder. Dodgers StadiumFor "Baseline VIP" tickets, the Dodgers are asking their faithful to shell out $150 per seat. That is going to run the average group of four exactly $600 per game, or $48,600 for the whole season. Angels StadiumThe best seats in Angels Stadium are called the “Diamond MVP” seats and cost $125 a pop. Oh, and neither the Diamond nor the MVP are included. It seems that if a fella is willing to drop $40,000 on season tickets for his family, the least that Arturo Moreno could do is throw in a dinner with Vlad Guerrero and a glimpse at Beth-O’s new engagement ring, right? Shea StadiumA single seat in the “Inner Box” seat area will run a fan $82.00. That’s $328 if that fan wants to bring along the spouse and the kiddies. For a full season? It’ll run him $26,568. This "bargain" is more than half of the average family income for an American family. There is something very wrong here. 2007 MLB ticket prices are out of control.
