Whether enjoying a little league, high school, college or major league baseball game, fans should remember these important items before leaving for the ballpark.

Discover the ten essential items to bring to a baseball game. Whether for safety, comfort or increased enjoyment of watching sports, these items are necessary. Don't leave home without them!

1. Binoculars

With nosebleed seats, binoculars are essential to paying attention to baseball action from distances. Simple binoculars can help spectators keep track of batting line-ups, identifying pitching changes or following ball flight.

2. Camera

Whether taking quick snapshots or zooming in for professional sports photographs, cameras make capturing memories easy. Digital cameras are readily available and most are easy to use. Bring a camera with advanced options, such as sports mode, optical zoom, etc., in order to capture the players in motion or from a distance.

3. Baseball Cap

Baseball caps or hats provide several benefits to baseball fans. Caps are useful in blocking out sunrays or providing shade from heat. Baseball caps offer a fashion use also, as fans wear team’s colors and logos.

4. Baseball Glove

When the baseball is hit foul or a homerun ball flies out towards seats, baseball gloves are an essential fan item. Fans bring baseball gloves in order to catch that game winning ball or any foul ball. Baseball gloves can also function as a safety item at games when fast moving balls move towards fans.

5. Pocket Fan and Mister Bottle

When the temperature rises, a pocket fan can provide spectators with a cool breeze. A mister bottle or spray bottle can also provide a cooling spray when heat plagues fans sitting in the hot sun.

6. Radio

Many fans bring a radio with AM capabilities in order to listen to play-by-play action. By listening to a radio, fans can better follow the calls and plays of the game. Some PA announcements can be hard to hear with fan noise or inaudible at any time. Some baseball parks do not have the sound quality or informative commentators utilized by radio programs or games available on television.

7. Blanket and Hot Cocoa

Not all baseball games occur in ideal weather conditions, so it is important to be prepared. If forecasts call for cooler temperatures or wind, make sure to bring a blanket or extra clothing. A packet of hot cocoa is also an essential item to bring, because ballpark prices can be outrageous. Hot water and paper cups are inexpensive and provided at most games.

8. Sunscreen

Whether the sun is out or cloudy skies abound, wearing sunscreen to a baseball game is an important step to remember. Sunscreen aids in protecting sensitive skin from over exposure to sun. As many baseball fans are seated in direct sun, remember to apply sunscreen before game time or bring a small bottle of sunscreen to the game. Reapply sunscreen if sweating occurs.

9. Seat Cushion or Extra Jacket/ Sweatshirt

Most amateur baseball parks do not contain comfortable seating arrangement. Most fields provide benches or bleachers for seating. Remember to bring a seat cushion or extra jacket or blanket to sit on. Bleachers and benches can be hard, agitating sore backs and necks. Bring a seat cushion in order to avoid excessive strain on the back or neck.

10. Extra Batteries

Perhaps one of the most important items to remember when electronic devices are brought to a game, is a package of extra batteries. Murphy’s law calls for batteries to die in the most exciting plays of the game. Be prepared with extra batteries at the baseball game.
