The 2007 fantasy baseball season offers team owners a lot of talent at the Third Base spot. Read this one closely before your 2007 MLB fantasy draft.

Álex Rodríguez of the New York Yankees is the Best MLB Fantasy Third Baseman

A-Rod is a safe bet to finish as the Top Fantasy Third Baseman. Even in a "down" year, he is still one of the best. After last year’s difficulties, look for A-Rod to hit 40 home runs and steal 25 bases, at least.

2006 Statistics: .290 - 35 HR - 121 RBI - 113 Runs.

2007 Projection: .296 - 42 HR - 125 RBI - 115 Runs.

Second MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: David Wright, Mets.

Wright just turned 24 years old, he’s a great hitter and he plays in a potent offense. He will become a fantasy stud this year.

2006 Statistics: .311 - 26 HR - 116 RBI - 96 Runs.

2007 Projection: .321 - 27 HR - 119 RBI - 104 Runs.

Third MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: Miguel Cabrera, Marlins.

Cabrera batted .339 in 2006, but his home runs dropped to 26 after hitting 33 in each of his first two seasons. In the right lineup, he would be the number one Fantasy Third Baseman.

2006 Statistics: .339 - 24 HR - 114 RBI - 112 Runs.

2007 Projection: .336 - 32 HR - 117 RBI - 104 Runs.

Forth MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: Scott Rolen, Cardinals.

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen produces when he is healthy. He also plays in a good offense, and he will produce this year like it’s 2004.

2006 Statistics: .292 - 22 HR - 95 RBI - 94 Runs.

2007 Projection: .310 - 28 HR - 115 RBI - 105 Runs.

Fifth MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: Ryan Zimmerman, Nationals.

The only negative for Ryan’s 2007 season is the loss of Alfonso Soriano. Beyond that, the sky is the limit for Zimmerman. He will add 48 doubles, 3 triples and 11 stolen bases to his resume. He is an excellent gamble.

2006 Statistics: .287 - 20 HR - 110 RBI - 84 Runs.

2007 Projection: .302 - 32 HR - 118 RBI - 94 Runs.

Sixth MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: Aramis Ramirez, Cubs.

Ramirez’s great strengths are contact and power. In addition to the statistics below, keep in mind that Ramirez only struck out 63 times in 594 at-bats. When a slugger connects that much, well, then he is just a plain good hitter.

2006 Statistics: .291 - 38 HR - 119 RBI - 93 Runs.

2007 Projection: .294 - 36 HR - 116 RBI - 96 Runs.

Seventh MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: Chipper Jones, Braves.

Jones can still put up his big numbers and compete with the new blood, but his injury history lowers him to seventh among Fantasy Baseball Third Basemen.

2006 Statistics: .324 - 26 HR - 86 RBI - 87 Runs.

2007 Projection: .307 - 25 HR - 88 RBI - 90 Runs.

Eighth MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: Troy Glaus, Blue Jays.

This veteran is still only 31 and has a good year ahead of him if he can stay healthy. Glaus is a consistent 35-40 home run hitter, but is only a career .253 hitter. He doesn't offer any valuable fantasy statistics other than home runs and RBI, but he will pick up plenty of both.

2006 Statistics: .253 - 38 HR - 104 RBI - 105 Runs.

2007 Projection: .256 - 36 HR - 102 RBI - 98 Runs.

Ninth MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: Chone Figgins, Angels.

Figgins may end up starting at second base, where he will be much more valuable, but his speed is enough to get him the ninth spot among Fantasy Baseball Third Basemen. He stole 52 bases and hit 10 triples stealing 62 bases and hitting 17 triples in 2006.

2006 Statistics: .267 - 9 HR - 62 RBI - 93 Runs.

2007 Projection: .291 - 12 HR - 64 RBI - 110 Runs.

Tenth MLB Fantasy Draft Pick: Aubrey Huff, Orioles.

Huff is much better than the statistics he posted in 2006. Look for him to rebound and justify your choice as the tenth best Fantasy Baseball Third Baseman.

2006 Statistics: .267 - 21 HR - 66 RBI - 57 Runs.

2007 Projection: .280 - 25 HR - 90 RBI - 80 Runs.
