» Michael Spiro - Who will win the 2008 World Series?

I agree with James Lincoln Ray about the 2008 Metropolitans. On paper, you have to like what they have, Pedro is going to have a lot of pressure taken off of his back. Wright and Reyes pioneer an offense that can and will match up with the Red Sox or the Tigers. Preseason prediction, I have to go with the Mets, but Maine, Pedro, and Johan have a lot to prove to me.

The Mets rotation is about as good as it gets in the NL. Even if EL Duque or Pedro go on the DL, they are confident that Mike Pelfrey can step in and perform better this time around. The line-up is very lefty-heavy, which concerns me as a fan. Alou hasn't played a whole season without getting injured in a long time. If he goes down, the Mets will have one right-handed bat in the lineup--David Wright.
